Cheap Computers and Cheap Computer Parts

If you have came upon my website you are probably interested in learning how to build a cheap computer, from cheap computer parts.  I will also teach you how to get the best bang for your money, when purchasing computer parts. You see, building cheap computer your self, from cheap computer parts has been a way to save a lot of money. However, as the computer prices continue to fall, the gap between buying a whole computer or building it from cheap computer parts has become smaller.

You can still save substantial money, depending on the total money you are planning to spend on the computer. If you are planning on buying a cheap computer in the price range of $500-$700, you are probably better off just buying the whole computer in one place. The reason for this is because most of the parts in your computer are very cheap, so you won't save a lot of money by buying separate computer parts from different websites, as the prices do not vary enough, from the site to site. The more you plan to spend, the more you will save by building computer yourself, by buying cheap computer parts from various websites. But as of now, it is easy to say that if you will not spend at least $1000 you won't be able to save more than $100-$200, at the most.

How to save the money by building cheap computer yourself

The best thing to do, in order to save the most money, would be buying separate computer parts from various websites that sell them. You see, some website will sell some computer parts very cheap, but some more expensive than elsewhere. For example, some websites will sell hard drives very cheap, but in the same time sell graphic cards much more expensive than elsewhere.

By building your self a cheap computer from cheap computer parts, you will not only save money, but have a lot of fun, especially if you are into computers, trust me!

Building cheap computers yourself is a fairly easy task. I have done it my self for the first time when I was only 16, and was building cheap computers by my self ever since, saving thousands of dollars in the process, and having a lot of fun. Also in the same time learning a lot about computers, and furthering my knowledge in the computer field.

Step 1: Decide how much money you are going to spend on building your new computer.

Step 2: Research, research, research. Especially if you are buying an expensive configuration, make sure that you research enough. Prices on high end processors and graphic cards can vary a lot, sometimes even over $100 from site to site, so do not rush, and make sure that you did enough research before buying.

Do NOT buy refurbished computer parts. even though you can save additional money by buying refurbished computer parts, my own experience has been terrible. Refurbished computer parts can be unreliable, and the worst thing is that (in most cases) they come with only 3 months warranty. I remember spending over $300 for refurbished high end graphic card which has died only a week after 3 month warranty has expired. How convenient...

In the worst possible case, if you get stuck while building a cheap computer your self, you can always call a computer technician who will help you do it. And the best part is to watch him doing it, because after that you will never need help again. He will maybe ask $50-$100 for it, but do not forget that you will save several hundred dollars by buying cheap computer parts yourself, and in the same time you will learn how to build it your self.

The best thing to do would be to buy a cheap but amazing educational video from here, that will show you how to build a computer from scratch (so you are sure not to get stuck), and many other cool things as well, and you will always have it handy as a reference. You can watch it on DVD player or VCR, while building your new configuration.
